West Coast Vancouver Island Tourism Information

Just bring yourself; everything else is here

On Canada's wild west coast, you can visit the edge of an island both ancient with history and young in energy. Visit with whales, bears, eagles, and rainforest creatures. Storm watch, surf, kayak, hike and fish where the mountains reach the sea. Wander Vancouver Island's beaches and clifftop trails right from your resort or B&B. Ucluelet, BC is a world class destination.

If you're a hiker there are many options for you, but none better than the Wild Pacific Trail which meanders through the rainforest and along the coast, featuring panoramic views of Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands. For a shorter hike, try the Willowbrae Trail, which traces a portion of a pioneer path that once linked Ucluelet and Tofino.

The area is famous for having some of the largest stands of old-growth red cedar in the region and is just minutes away from Long Beach, BC, the longest stretch of sandy beach on Vancouver Island's west coast. You can spend days exploring the beaches and trails of Ucuelet and Pacific Rim National Park's beaches and trails.
