Ucluelet Surfing, Kayaking, & Diving

The Pacific Rim National Park is the place to surf in Canada. The long, open shoreline with rolling swells makes it a perfect spot for those who love to ride the waves.

Surfing near Ucluelet is done year round because the ocean temperature stays around 50 degrees F/10 degrees C all year. Wetsuits are strongly recommended.

Kayaking

Ocean kayaking is a popular activity on the west coast of Vancouver Island, particularly around Ucluelet. Paddle the Ucluelet Harbour, Barkley Sound or the Broken Group Islands. There are hundreds of islands to explore, white sandy beaches, quiet coves and the exciting exposed coastline.

SCUBA Diving

The Broken Group Islands Unit of Pacific Rim National Reserve is a maze of islands, islets, reefs and numerous rocks, providing a variety of exciting diving opportunities. Sites vary from relatively easy, for the less experienced or beginner diver, to challenging for the very experienced diver.
